1 July 1961 to 31 August 1997
Grew up a Lady and married a Prince.
Became a Mother and a champion for the sick,
the dying, the defenceless and the lost.
She cried for those in pain now we all cry for her.
To be haunted all her adult life, the clicking of
cameras followed her everywhere she went.
Now she can finally rest in peace.
But we won't forget her and all she stood for.
Her style and grace she has passed on to her sons.
The Queen of Hearts is silent now,
but her memory echos through our minds forever.
